PERMISSIONS/OPT OUT OOC • backtagging thats cool with me! i do my best to reply to stuff as soon as i see it, and usually clear out my inboxes by the end of the night at LEAST once, but i don't expect that of anyone else and if your pace is a little slower thats perfectly fine! responding to older logs/toplevels/etc is also fine by me • threadhopping absolutely valid so long as you know the other person in the thread is cool w/ it • fourthwalling Hell Yeah im always up for this • offensive subjects this one's a little more difficult. discussions or implications of rape, incest, pedophilia, beastiality, etc, are a huge no. homophobia, transphobia, racism, misogyny, ableism, etc, are also big no's. the only potential exceptions are: -your character is talking about their past experiences and trauma that happens to involve the offensive subject in question. PLEASE talk to me first before doing this, but so long as it's all handled tactfully and with grace, its all good. -our characters are discussing dealing with microaggressions such as homophobic slurs and ableist commentary. still probably get my permission first, but again, as long as it's tactful, I'm game. IC • physical contact Yeah dude ofc. Newt's a tactile kinda guy. He likes hugs and shit • romance this ones a little complex. crushes and shit? thats fine. flirting? im personally pathetic at that, but go ahead with trying it on newt and make me struggle to put words into his mouth. an actual romantic relationship that lasts for an extended period of time? mmmmaybe. it'd have to be w/ a character he's got strong CR with, and preferably played by someone i trust. you can always ask, just please don't get upset if i say no that said, if a Hermann joins the game Newt's in, he's definitely gonna be feeling some gay things. But i won't play that out into an actual relationship Thing unless I know the other player and theyre cool with it • sex I have. some bad experiences with sex in RP, when i was a lot younger, and I'm not comfortable with it unless i trust the other person; and even then, almost certainly not. Sorry! The most i could probably be comfortable with is our characters having a one night stand or some other casual relationship, but not threaded out and just implied in tags as having happened off screen. but again, this is a subject i am very, VERY cautious about. tread carefully or not at all • fighting oh hell yeah. knock his ass out • injuries or death anything up to a broken bone is fine, broken bone or worse? ask me first. SHIPS • Newt/Hermann ✔✔✔ I mean. Obviously. Gotta love those gay scientists • Newt/Other dudes ✔ this man is gay and he is attracted to twinks with canes, and bears who could kill him • Newt/ladies ✘/✔ i kinda go back and forth whether or not my headcanon for newt is a gay dude or if he's bi; regardless, I play him as predominantly attracted to guys, but if they build good enough CR i wouldnt necessarily be opposed to him falling for a woman • newt/someone dramatically younger than him ✘ Newt's 45. I am not at all comfortable w/ a relationship between him and someone young enough to be his kid, even if they are over 18. • newt/kaiju ✘✘ i know, I know, we all love to joke about him being a kaiju groupie, but it squicks me out just a bit too much for a few reasons. he appreciates the kaiju, he's afraid of them, he respects them, but he doesn't want to fuck them • newt/underage, newt/bigoted or abusive characters, etc ✘✘✘ i COULD be persuaded to have newt be interested in someone who he doesnt KNOW is A Bastard, as long as he Does find out their true colors at some point. it's an interesting way for CR to go, but definitely talk with me about it first OPT-OUT • Newt is from a canonpoint that makes a lot of shit about his current outlook on things, his personality, etc, a big spoiler. PLEASE let me know if you dont want to risk pacific rim uprising spoilers in our threads.
